About Us

Hello my fellow fisherman, my name is Steve Fogle and I have been building custom fishing rods for about 6 years now. I will be turning "the big 50" in 2 years and in 2008 I can retire from my government job. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 30 years now and we have 2 daughters, 2 very special granddaughters and a super step-grandson who loves to fish!. I got my start building 7' fiberglass rods for flounder and now I build everything from 5' buggy whips to stand-up tuna rods. I have been fishing the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland for approximately 15 years and mainly target stripers (Rock) but like fishing for anything that bites. I have built rods for charter boat Captains as well as novice fisherman and have built custom rods for various occasions such as birthdays, wedding gifts and Christmas presents and have even built one for a groom to present to his bride-to-be right before they got married. I take pride in the rods that I build and there's nothing like seeing the expressions on the guys and gals faces that receive them. When I discuss a custom rod with a customer, I want to know what fish they intend to target and then I can recommend the best rod for that use. I hope that if you decide to have that "special" custom rod built that you will give me the opportunity to build it for you. I also do repairs on rods and I have even re-built many rods from the butt to the tiptop. Thank You for visiting my web site and take a look at what some of my satisfied customers have to say about the rods I have built for them.

Tight Lines,

Steve Fogle
Designing and Crafting Custom Rods
Dedication
I would like to dedicate my success to a man that has taught me just about everything I know about fishing, crabbing and building custom rods. Frank "Pappy" Dayhoff is the man that is responsible for me getting into the rod building business. Frank took me crabbing with him back in the early 70's and we fished and crab up until his death in 2002. In 2001 Frank showed me how to build a rod and I just took off from there. I think about Frank every time I start to build a rod and I always have said that Frank forgot more about fishing and crabbing then I will every learn. The Big Guy upstairs has one of the best Waterman I know and knowing Frank he's on the water right now doing what he loved to do. Thanks for everything you taught me Pappy and I think you would be proud of me for the success that I have had. God Bless...
